Location

The B&B La Palazzina Veneziana is easily reachable from Santa Lucia train station, only a five minute walk away, and crossing just one bridge. The building is situated at the foot of Ponte delle Guglie, in the historic Sestiere di Cannaregio, a charming area of Venice that is full of life.

Thanks to its proximity to the vaporetto stop and Alilaguna shuttle, the Bed & Breakfast is conveniently connected to Piazzale Roma, St. Mark’s Square, the airport and all the major attractions in Venice.

La Palazzina Veneziana is also a strategic starting point for anyone who wishes to visit the nearby Jewish Ghetto quarter, just a short walk away, and for those who want to partake in the gambling tables at the elegant and renowned Casinò di Venezia, at the splendid Palazzo Ca’ Vendramin Calergi.

How to reach us

By train

Once you arrive at the Santa Lucia train station, continue along Strada Nova until Ponte delle Guglie (5 minutes). Just after crossing the bridge, the B&B is immediately to your right. If you prefer the vaporetto, take the line 42 or 52 and get off at the GUGLIE stop after less than 10 minutes. Leaving the dock, the B&B is immediately to your right, at the foot of the Ponte delle Guglie.

By plane

From Venice’s “Marco Polo” International Airport, take the Alilaguna water shuttle and get off at the Guglie stop, after about a 40 minute ride. Leaving the dock, the B&B is immediately to your right, at the foot of the Ponte delle Guglie.

Also from Venice’s “Marco Polo” International Airport, as an alternative to the water shuttle service, the ACTV number 5 bus is also available, or the ATVO bus service, connecting the airport to Piazzale Roma in just 20 minutes.

From Piazzale Roma

From Piazzale Roma, La Palazzina Veneziana can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes, crossing the Ponte di Calatrava and continuing straight until Ponte delle Guglie. Just after crossing the bridge, the B&B is immediately to your right.

Alternatively, take the vaporetto 42 or 52 and get off at the GUGLIE stop. Leaving the dock, the B&B is immediately on your right, at the foot of the Ponte delle Guglie.


Cannaregio

Cross the main street, Strada Nova, with its numerous stores and shops providing a pleasant shopping experience, to reach Cannaregio, one of Venice’s most vibrant districts, teeming with elegant night spots.

Old taverns and restaurants, with open air tables, are lined up along the parallel Fondamenta della Misericordia, in a wonderfully enchanting historic context.

In Cannaregio, in addition to Venice’s historic Jewish Ghetto, don’t miss out on a visit to the Gothic church of Madonna dell’Orto, taking a moment to enjoy the peaceful tranquility of Campo Sant’Alvise.


The Ghetto

Established in the early 16th century with the aim of containing the demographic increase in population of the Jewish community on the island, following the War of the League of Cambrai, Venice’s Jewish ghetto is characterized by tall buildings with numerous stories and low ceilings, and the presence of five synagogues. The Ghetto is also home to kosher restaurants, traditional shops and a museum dedicated to Jewish culture.


St. Mark’s Square

St. Mark’s Square is just a forty minute walk away, the city’s so-called “Salon”, an indescribable space that is dominated by the mesmerizingly tall Bell Tower and rendered unique by the mosaics in the Basilica and refined architecture of the Palazzo Ducale. Take a break and stop in one of the historic cafés facing onto the square, and let yourself be blown away by the magic of this amazing place!
